What's Cloud dragon?

Cloud dragon is a very common pattern for shoji paper in Japan.

It's really subtle, threads of long fiber randomly spread out on white background.

In Japanese, it's called "Un-ryu" (pronounce "moon" without m = "oon" and then "liu"). "Un" means cloud, and "ryu" is dragon.

This word gives one an impression of trailing clouds as if dragons gliding in the sky.

There is "Plain" type of shoji paper, but because of the elegance and its subtleness, Cloud dragon is very popular in Japan.
